Commercial activities in Aleppo respond to the initiative of the Ministry of Awqaf and allocate materials for sale at cost price

The Ministry of Awqaf’s initiative, “Religion is morality ... Zakat, decreases your prices,” in the governorate of Aleppo, in response to the markets, and many merchants reduced prices and allocated sections within the shops for the initiative to sell at cost.
 
Dr. Rami Obaid, Director of Endowments in Aleppo, explained to the SANA reporter that the initiative aims to reduce the prices of products in the markets and merchants were urged to interact with them, expressing his hope that the initiative will take the national and social dimension and that the traders will be supportive of the citizen who is the compass of institutional and charitable work.
 
Sheikh Mustafa Dahan, the supervisor of the youth religious team in Aleppo, stated that a working group has been formed to implement the initiative and the rapid response has been felt by commercial activities.
 
SANA camera toured a number of markets that started implementing the initiative to reduce prices and included the new Aleppo, Adhamiyah, Furqan and Saif al-Dawla, where Mahmoud Tahan, the owner of a store that sells food and consumer items, stated that he responded to the initiative of the Ministry of Endowments and began selling some of the items at cost, including eggs, sugar, rice, lentils and some other materials. A simple profit margin was set on her. In Adhamiya district, Muhammad Kamel Abu Saleh, the owner of Sumana and consumer goods store, spoke about reducing the prices of a number of foodstuffs and selling them at wholesale prices, as he felt a great demand from citizens to buy.
 
Zakaria Hamwi, the owner of a shoe company in the Seif al-Dawla neighborhood, indicated that he responded to the initiative by allocating a section in the store that included selling at reduced prices to contribute to helping people with low incomes, while Mohamed Khattab, the owner of a fashion store in Al-Furqan neighborhood, pointed to lowering prices and starting selling at cost at a dedicated section Within the store and in another section, the prices were reduced by 20 percent, while Omar al-Sufi, the owner of a clothing store, explained that he had committed to the initiative and had reduced his clothing prices.
 
A number of citizens who were present in the markets expressed their satisfaction with the price reduction, wishing the wide contribution by its merchants and the demand for price reduction.
