3 scientists share the Nobel Prize for Physics

Three scientists won the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics for their contribution to a better understanding of the evolution of the universe and the “position of the earth in the universe”.
Half of the prize was awarded to Canadian-American James Peebles for his "theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology," and the other half equally divided between Swiss Michelle Mayor and Didier Kellos "for discovering an extrasolar planet orbiting a solar star."
The three will share the prize money of 9 million crowns in cash, a gold necklace and a certificate, according to the Associated Press.
The Nobel Prizes will be distributed at a ceremony in Stockholm on December 10.
American Arthur Ashkin, Frenchman Gerard Moreau and Canadian Donna Strickland shared the Nobel Prize in physics last year.
