Dr. Mazen Dirowan, Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, received a delegation from the International Labour Organization (ILO). The delegation included Mr. José Manuel Medina Chica, Employers' Specialist at the ILO Regional Office for Arab States, alongside Ms. Paola Polancia and Mr. Homam Mashhour from the organization's office in Syria. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Khaldoun Dado, Director of the Federation.Mr. José expressed the organization's readiness to provide support to the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry regarding its structure, technical and technological aspects, legal frameworks, and the functioning of committees and regulating bylaws, ensuring alignment with counterpart regional federations. He also highlighted the organization's cooperation with Syrian authorities to offer technical expertise in labor laws, social insurance, and occupational health and safety.For his part, Dr. Mazen outlined Syria's current shift toward a competitive free economy. He emphasized the Federation's role in representing Syrian industry and revitalizing its operations through close cooperation with all employers' organizations in Syria, including chambers of industry, commerce, agriculture, and other federations. The two sides also discussed mechanisms to enhance the performance of the Federation and the chambers, aiming to deliver distinguished and beneficial services to industrialists in accordance with the modern standards of regional and international chambers and federations.At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. José announced an ongoing support program for Syria titled the "Syria Investment and Growth Program." This initiative aims to establish a digital platform for investments and partnerships, provide information and advisory services, build institutional capacity, and implement activities to encourage entrepreneurship, as well as launch and scale up small businesses. He reiterated the organization's full readiness to cooperate with the Federation and the chambers to implement this program effectively
