DAMASCUS – February 10, 2026
In recognition of its vital role in supporting the Syrian Economic Sciences Society and advancing national economic interests, the Society presented a commemorative shield to the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry. The award was received by Mr. Moataz Tarabichi (Vice President) and Mr. Abdullah Al-Zayed (Board Secretary) during a ceremony marking the Society’s 60th anniversary, attended by prominent academics and business leaders.
During the event, Society officials—Mr. Mohammad Al-Hallaq, Mr. Fouad Al-Lahham, and Mr. Samir Seifan—emphasized the Society's enduring legacy as a scientific platform deeply connected to national economic issues. They highlighted its role since inception as a reference for economic thought, providing practical, evidence-based analyses and honoring the pioneers who sustained its national mission.
Participants noted that the Society’s strength lies in its intellectual diversity, bridging the gap between academic theory and field experience. By bringing together professors and entrepreneurs, the Society effectively addresses pressing issues such as pricing, wages, fiscal policies, and sectoral challenges in agriculture and industry.
The jubilee concluded by honoring various partners whose financial and moral support has been instrumental in the Society’s successful journey.
