The General Assembly of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce held its first annual meeting following the return of stability, bringing together representatives from the commercial sector and government institutions to review last year's achievements and discuss future plans.
Chamber President Dr. Abdul Rahim Ziyada reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening its role as a bridge between traders and government entities while improving the investment environment and enhancing services provided to members.
The Chamber also announced a nearly 200% increase in membership during 2025, alongside growth in investment revenues, while approving the estimated budget for 2026.
The Chamber’s leadership emphasized that Damascus Countryside is a major economic hub in Syria, contributing approximately 35% of the country’s total exports, underscoring its strategic importance in supporting trade and investment during the coming period
