The Syrian Ministry of Tourism reduces hotel prices for Syrians

The Syrian Ministry of Tourism has issued a circular to all its affiliated hotels, regarding the residence costs imposed on the Syrians.
 
The ministry published on its Facebook page today, Tuesday, that it circulates to hotels belonging to it (Damaroz - Shahba Aleppo - Sheraton Damascus) by granting a 25% discount on the prices and fees of accommodation for Syrian citizens, for a period of two months.
 
Earlier, the Ministry of Tourism announced the preparation of a memorandum in cooperation with the Central Bank of Syria, according to which hotels that are classified from the level of two stars to 4 stars and it is possible up to 5 stars, to charge from customers in the Syrian pound and not in foreign currencies.
 
On that note, Minister of Tourism Rami Martini twice said that two prices charged by hotels in Syria will be set, the first for the Syrian citizen and the second for the foreigner, given that the latter pays more.
 
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Tourism hotels achieved revenues exceeding 7.7 billion Syrian pounds during the past year, up by about half a billion pounds from what was achieved during 2017, while its net profit amounted to 3 billion Syrian pounds in 2018.
