Fodder branch in Daraa renews its stocks in preparation for the winter season

Director of the General Establishment of Feed in Daraa - Engineer Hamid Al-Khabouri denied the existence of any damage, rot or injury to insects in the stores in the branch warehouses of all kinds of fodder. Completion of the old stockpiles during the past year and discharge them at reduced prices and delivery to the livestock breeding areas in the province.
Al-Khabouri's remarks came in response to remarks made by a number of livestock breeders in previous periods about the poor quality of some types of feed rationing in the warehouses, which was exposed during the last season to excessive humidity, which led to the destruction of parts of it after exposure to rot.
The Director of the Feed Branch started a new feed cycle which is the fifth of this year and will continue until the end of October and includes the distribution of 200 kg of capsule and 300 kg of barley and 20 kg of corn in addition to 20 kg of material for each head of cows, while the distribution of 50 kg Of corn, 10 kg of raspberry, 150 kg of barley and 2 kg of groats per head of sheep or goats.
He pointed out that the demand for feed was low this year due to the availability of pastures during the last winter season and the subsequent availability of harvesting material «Aqir», which saved the livestock breeders the cost of buying large quantities of feed, noting that the sales of the branch of feed materials arrived during This year to 1800 tons of bran, 1250 tons of capsules, 3.5 tons of kassab and 8 tons of groats, these figures were distributed in one feed cycle in the years before the war on Syria.
Al-Khabouri pointed out that the demand for feed is increasing during the next two months as breeders are storing sufficient quantities of feed in preparation for the winter season. Private-sector laboratories, especially the materials produced by these plants, such as capsule, for example, whose price in the market reaches LL 140 per kilogram, while they are distributed in the centers of the institution by LL 95.
The director of the branch expected that the demand for the material will increase as a result of the improvement in the number of livestock in the province, which decreased during the war years and return to the previous one, as the statistics of the Department of Agriculture in Daraa indicate the recovery of the number of livestock in the province according to statistics in 2018 and reached 34146 Cattle, 653,694 sheep and 94,627 goats.
Al-Khabouri pointed to the focus of efforts to increase the positive intervention by the Foundation branch to ensure the stability of feedstuffs in the market, both in terms of price and quality and expand the base of support for breeders, in addition to the rehabilitation and rehabilitation of centers that were discharged during the war years as a result of damage to them Muzairib »and address the shortage in the workforce and technicians in the centers of the institution.
Remains to the suffering of livestock breeders in the province, which is the distance of centers affiliated to the feed branch in the province from the breeding places of their herds, which carries additional costs for the transport of feedstuffs, demanding the reopening of the centers «Musaverp and Almzireb», which are still out of service.
