French club sacks its coach after the worst series of defeats in its history

French club Toulouse announced, on Sunday, the dismissal of its coach, Antoine Compouaré, after only three months after taking office, against the backdrop of the worst series of defeats in the club's history, culminated in Saturday's defeat by a team immersed in the 32nd round of the French Cup in football.

In mid-October, Compouaré took over the job of coaching the French team, succeeding Alain Casanova, but on Sunday he paid the price of the team receiving 10 consecutive defeats in various competitions, the last of which was on Saturday, with a loss against the amateur club Saint-Preveil with one goal in the last minute of the match.

In a statement, Toulouse announced the dismissal of the 56-year-old Compoure and assigned his duties temporarily to Donny Zanko, who is currently the technical director of the club's training center

The statement came shortly after the visit of club president Olivier Sadran to the training headquarters, where he informed the players directly of the decision, before they went to Spain to run a training camp in preparation for the resumption of the domestic league competition at the end of next week, after the winter break.

Toulouse occupies the last place in the French league standings with just 12 points from 19 games in which it won three wins and the same draws, compared to 19 losses. The team's goal this season has received 39 goals in League 1
