The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Mr. Mohammad Safwat Raslan, received a delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, headed by Dr. Mazen Deirwan, Chairman of the Federation. The meeting was attended by Mr. Asaad Kajoun, Vice Chairman of the Federation and President of the Hama Chamber of Industry; Eng. Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi, Secretary-General of the Federation and President of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry; Mr. Hassan Daaboul, Treasurer of the Federation; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kurdi, Board Member of the Federation; and Mr. Khaldoun Dado, Director of the Federation.The meeting addressed several banking topics related to the operations of industrialists, mechanisms for financing the economic sector in general and the industrial sector in particular, expanding banking facilities, and activating concessionary lease-to-own financing and loans, specifically for modernizing and developing industrial machinery. Additionally, they discussed a proposal to accept the project itself as collateral instead of real estate mortgages for loan applicants.The Governor indicated the upcoming activation of the electronic payment system through licensed companies approved by the Central Bank, noting that this system will alleviate pressure on cash liquidity utilization. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Governor welcomed the proposal to hold an upcoming meeting with industrialists to answer their inquiries and brief them on the activities of the Central Bank of Syria and its impact on industrial operations
