Great Mosque of Aleppo

The Great Mosque of Aleppo is one of the most important historical mosques in the ancient city of Aleppo. Aleppo was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986 due to its historic buildings dating from the 11th to the 16th century. The mosque was built during the 8th century and renovated in the 11th century. A fountain was added to its central courtyard, and a 45-meter minaret was added to become one of the most prominent landmarks of the mosque. [1]
