Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Holds Annual General Assembly Meeting and Launches Digital Automation Project
The Board of Directors of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its annual General Assembly meeting, chaired by Mr. Anas Deep Joud, President of the Chamber. The meeting was attended by Mr. Al-Shareef Safi Al-Fadel, General Secretary; Dr. Essam Soufi, member of the Executive Bureau of Lattakia Governorate; Mr. Abdul Wahab Safar, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection; and Mr. Ammar Qosaibati, Financial Director of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, alongside board members, the Jableh Traders Committee, and a large crowd of merchants and industrialists.
In his opening speech, Mr. Joud emphasized that the Chamber continues to support merchants and develop the business environment despite current economic challenges. He highlighted positive steps toward trade liberalization, expanding import opportunities, and deepening partnerships with government entities and various ministries through specialized economic committees.
Joud also shed light on the Chamber's initiatives to support entrepreneurship, which include launching free training courses in Artificial Intelligence to qualify a new generation of business professionals. He added that the Chamber is currently focusing on investing in its real estate assets to boost financial resources, alongside launching the Businesswomen Council to activate women's roles in economic development.
For his part, Mr. Al-Shareef Safi Al-Fadel reviewed the agenda, which included:

Discussing the annual Board of Directors report.

Approving final financial statements and discharging the board members.

Approving the estimated budget for the upcoming year and appointing the auditor.

Determining annual subscription fees and discussing the status of the Chamber's real estate.
In the context of digital development, Mr. Mohammad Shammout, Executive Director, presented a roadmap to relaunch the Chamber. The plan features a service automation project in cooperation with the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, aimed at delivering services online through an integrated smart application to simplify procedures for members.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion for General Assembly members. The Chamber President, General Secretary, and Treasurer addressed the attendees' inquiries and demands, particularly regarding financial matters and coordination mechanisms with official authorities
