Mourinho: Liverpool are lucky ... they drank tea in the "mouse" room
Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has poured out his anger at the refereeing after Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Saturday in the 22nd round of the Premier League.
Mourinho accused the referees of "return" television technology, of condoning a dismissal against Liverpool defender Andy Robertson, after his violent intervention against Tottenham player Javetti Tanganga.
The TV replay showed violent interference by Robertson against the young English player, which angered Tottenham fans and was considered by the coach a reason to expel the Reds defender.
At a time when Tanganga seemed to have been affected during the rest of the match by violent interference, Mourinho said: "Liverpool are lucky, they ended the game against 10 players, the referees' rulers at that time were drinking tea and did not see the intervention of Royston who was worth a red card.
Martin Atkinson, the referee of the match, did not grant a violation after the violent incident, nor did he return to the "mouse" technology, given that referees who are in the TV rooms equipped with the right to stop the matches, and alert the referee to take decisions on such violent interventions.
It is noteworthy that Mourinho had attacked the mouse earlier, when he fired striker Sun Heung Min during his team's match against Chelsea last December, knowing that Tottenham lost its time with a clean double.
It is noteworthy that Mourinho has taken over Tottenham just weeks ago, following the ouster of former coach Maurizio Pochettino due to poor results.
