The Foreign Relations Committee of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce held a virtual meeting with its counterpart, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Damascus. The meeting aimed to discuss prospects for developing economic and trade relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of India, and to prepare for the upcoming visit of an Indian economic delegation to Syria.The meeting featured discussions on several priority sectors, most notably energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, technology, education, and the automotive industry. Additionally, both sides emphasized the importance of organizing bilateral business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Syrian and Indian companies to foster sustainable economic and investment partnerships.The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee affirmed that Syria possesses a strategic geographical location that serves as a bridge between Asia and Europe. This enhances its role as a regional hub for trade, investment, and logistics, offering investors promising opportunities to access multiple markets starting from the Syrian market.Both sides also stressed the importance of exchanging economic and sectoral information, and preparing introductory materials on available investment opportunities. This will help familiarize the Indian business community with the potential of the Syrian market and support the success of the upcoming visit by the Indian economic delegation.The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to maintaining continuous coordination and working towards developing institutional and economic cooperation to serve common interests and strengthen economic ties between Syria and India
