Mr. Nashat Al-Rifai, Chairman of the Daraa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, explained that he, along with a joint Syrian-Jordanian economic delegation, visited Colonel Muhammad Ali Al-Dhiyabat, Director General of the Jaber Border Center. The delegation included Mr. Hani Abu Hassan, Chairman of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Mr. Amin Al-Ramahi, Board Member of the Chamber, and Mr. Muhammad Khair Al-Nan, Chairman and General Manager of Al-Durra Factory. The visit aimed to discuss ways to facilitate the movement of investors and businessmen entering and leaving, and to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two sisterly countries. Mr. Al-Rifai emphasized the importance of continuous coordination and cooperation between private sector institutions and official authorities in both countries. He stressed the need to address and overcome any challenges facing investors, thereby contributing to the promotion of trade exchange and investments, and supporting joint economic development efforts.For his part, Mr. Abu Hassan pointed out the vital role played by the Jaber Border Center as a main artery for trade exchange and investment movement between Jordan and Syria. He noted that simplifying procedures for investors and industrialists contributes to stimulating economic activity and opening broader horizons for commercial and investment cooperation between both sides. In turn, Colonel Al-Dhiyabat reviewed the efforts exerted to develop the services provided at the center, and to facilitate procedures for travelers, investors, and cargo movement. He affirmed the keenness to enhance work efficiency and provide the best services to keep pace with the growing growth in transit traffic and trade exchange. The attendees praised the announcement by the Ministry of Investment in Jordan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, regarding the invitation of specialized companies and coalitions to participate in the Jaber Border Crossing development project through a public-private partnership. They emphasized that the project represents an important strategic step toward enhancing the crossing's position as a regional trade gateway and an integrated center for border and logistical services. At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination between official authorities and private sector institutions was reaffirmed. This aims to overcome obstacles for investors, enhance the business environment, and benefit from the promising economic opportunities provided by the development of the Jaber Border Crossing during the coming period
