The Syrian–Uzbek Economic Forum concluded in Aleppo on May 20, 2026, organized under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry and jointly by the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Union and the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce, with the participation of a high-level Uzbek economic delegation, alongside prominent businessmen, investors, and representatives of economic bodies from both countries.
The forum served as a key platform to enhance trade and investment relations between Syria and Uzbekistan, opening new avenues for cooperation in industry, trade, production, and investment, while also promoting direct interaction between the business communities of both nations.

Participants emphasized the importance of reactivating the historical economic and trade ties that connected the Silk Road cities, highlighting Aleppo’s historic role as a center of civilization, commerce, and cultural exchange.
Alaa Al-Ali stressed that the forum offers a genuine opportunity to build knowledge and investment bridges between Syrian and Uzbek businessmen, contributing to expanding international economic relations and supporting sustainable development.
He added that the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Union seeks to create a favorable environment for investors and project owners, considering the forum as a launching point for joint economic initiatives that serve both countries’ interests and increase trade and investment exchange.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Saeed Sheikh Al-Kar highlighted Syria and Uzbekistan’s long-standing economic, trade, and cultural relations, noting that Tashkent and Aleppo were key centers along the Silk Road and gateways for East–West exchange.
The forum reviewed major investment and trade opportunities in both countries, focusing on industrial, production, and commercial sectors, and discussed potential projects and joint partnerships to boost trade and investment.
Participants also explored ways to exchange expertise among companies and economic institutions, and develop cooperation in industry, trade, and logistics services, aligned with both countries’ goals of expanding regional economic collaboration.
They concluded that the forum’s outcomes represent an important step towards strengthening economic presence between Damascus and Tashkent, opening the way for more effective partnerships in the future, supporting investment and trade expansion between Syrian and Uzbek business communities.
