Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry Holds its Annual Meeting and Approves the 2026 Budget
The Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its annual General Assembly meeting at its headquarters under the slogan "New Syria... New Economy". The meeting was attended by a broad official and economic delegation, including representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, Tartous Governorate, and the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, alongside heads of local municipal, financial, agricultural, and maritime authorities.
In his opening speech, the Chairman of the Chamber, Eng. Youssef Mohamed Shaar, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the necessity of advancing the business sector and improving the investment climate to yield tangible benefits and enhance Tartous's role as a key gateway supporting the national economy.
General Assembly Decisions
The attendees discussed the agenda, and the majority voted to approve the following items:

Approving the Board of Directors' report and the final financial statements for the years 2024–2025.

Approving the estimated budget for the year 2026.

Determining annual fees and retirement contributions, and approving the full retirement pension amount.

Appointing the financial auditor, determining their fees, and electing the fund controller and their assistant.

Discharging the members of the Chamber's Board of Directors and the Retirement Fund Board.
Future Visions and Outlook
The meeting featured discussions stressing the importance of partnership among all stakeholders to support the trade, industry, and national economy sectors. For his part, the Director General of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce announced an ongoing specialized study to develop the traders' retirement fund, confirming that the upcoming phase will bring new steps to support their financial stability.
