At the invitation of the Syrian-American Business Council, Dr. Mazen Deirwan, Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, participated in the activities of the First Syrian-American Business Forum at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, with the participation of several ministers, heads of economic and commercial authorities, and business leaders from both Syria and the United States.The forum aims to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, explore partnership and investment opportunities, and discuss the future of the Syrian economy during the recovery phase, contributing to supporting economic development and stimulating investments.On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Mazen participated in a panel discussion entitled: "Syria at a Strategic Crossroads: Government Achievements and the Recovery Program for 2026 and 2027."During the session, Dr. Mazen highlighted the great importance for Syria to cooperate with the United States, which represents the world's leading economy, following the lifting of previous sanctions and blockades, and the removal of Syria's name from the state sponsors of terrorism list. He also noted that American banks have commenced direct money transfer operations to Syria—specifically Chase Manhattan Bank—two days prior to the forum's convention.
