Transport: A program that reduces the processing time of vehicles for minutes

The Minister of Transport Ali Al-Hamoud said that the central vehicle transactions management program, which is currently underway, will be ready to be implemented in all the transport directorates in the governorates during the first quarter of 2020.

The minister said that the program facilitates and accelerates the processing of citizens and prevents them from being subjected to extortion cases. The transactions that took days will be completed in minutes, and will cut about 200 thousand calculations in the transport directorates.

The Minister of Transport pointed to the readiness of the central vehicle management program in the directorates of Rural Damascus and Homs. It is currently being piloted in Tartous, and the project will be completed in all governorates.

The Minister revealed the work on a companion project for the vehicle management program, which is electronic payment, which leads to more facilities and completion of transactions without returning to the Directorate of Transport, and enables citizens to pay anywhere and through any device.

Last month, the Homs Land Transport Directorate officially launched the Central Vehicle Transaction Management Program, following the success of the same experiment in the Transport Directorate in Damascus countryside.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the new program allows all transactions from sale and purchase, refurbishment of vehicles and transfer of ownership through a court order within the governorate where the transaction is made, without the need to travel to the governorate where the vehicle is registered.

The service of granting or replacing car plates is excluded from transactions that can be carried out centrally through the vehicle management program, which must be carried out by the Directorate where the vehicle is registered.

Earlier in 2018, the Ministry of Transport launched a financial reservation service for the vehicle owner electronically in all its directorates, making it the second electronic service to be announced in a week, after the vehicle inquiry service.
