"Valverdes successor" and Barcelona .. when the final position becomes clear?
In light of reports that Barcelonas Spanish legend Xavi Hernandez has returned to the Catalan team as coach, the sports newspaper Sport has revealed the date when the retired star will respond to his club's offer.
The widespread newspaper said that Xavi, who is currently coaching the Qatari Dam, had already received an offer to train Barcelona for two and a half seasons, after great patience with the teams failures under the leadership of his current coach, Ernesto Valverde.
According to "Sport", Xavi will respond to the Spanish champion, on Sunday, where he "will decide everything."
Xavi confirmed that he had met the sports director of Barcelona, former French defender Eric Abidal, but he refused to talk about supervising the team in which he starred as a player and scored with him all possible titles.
The world champion in 2010 and the European champion 2008 and 2012 with Spain, admitted: "I cannot hide that my dream is to train Barcelona and I have said this repeatedly. Everyone knows that I encourage Barcelona with all my heart."
The Catalan radio "Cadena Ser" indicated that Abidal discussed with Chafee the possibility of training the team for the next two seasons, and also for the remainder of the current season, in the event of abandoning Valverde.
