Allowing Libyan Airlines aircraft to cross the Syrian airspace

The Syrian Ministry of Transport announced that Minister Ali Hammoud agreed to grant Libyan Airlines permission to cross through Syrian airspace at the request of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority to the Syrian Civil Aviation Organization at the Ministry of Transport.
 
The ministry said that this is in line with the air agreement between the two countries in addition to what it achieves to use the Syrian airspace in terms of reducing costs and saving time.
 
The ministry indicated that a large number of airline companies observe the passage over Syrian airspace since the outbreak of the war on Syria, arranging additional burdens on the price of the ticket and the technical status of the planes, and indicated that the time of circumvention around Syria is about an hour and a half, which causes great losses The companies that refrained from crossing in the Syrian airspace.
 
Libyan Airlines is a government company, headquartered in Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli.
 
It is noteworthy that a number of companies have returned to cross over the Syrian airspace, the most recent of which was Qatar Airways, which in May joined Iranian companies, Iraqi "Fly" and Lebanese Airlines, "Middle East".
 
The Syrian government had raised the transit fees over Syrian airspace by 50 percent, bringing the fees to $ 150 on the plane’s passage in Syrian airspace at one time, provided that its weight did not exceed 75 tons, and the fees increased by increasing the plane’s weight.
