It is reported that Ihab Tawfiq made initial statements as the owner of the villa and an eyewitness who was present during the outbreak, and confirmed that a short circuit was likely in the fireplace of his father's room, which first caught and caused his death without being able to save him.
He pointed out that the fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday morning, while he was on the second floor of the villa.
He added: When I saw the smoke billowing from the first floor, where my father resides, I ran to try to save him, but the flames and the intensity of smoke prevented that.
Tawfiq continued: We were able to get out of the villa without severe injuries among the workers and residents inside the place.
He attributed the cause of the fire to the occurrence of a short circuit with a heater in his father’s room, and he said: No one can enter before his death.
